The 36th European Microwave Conference (EuMC) that will be held in Manchester, UK, from 10 to 15 September, is the core of European Microwave Week 2006, the largest event in Europe dedicated to microwave electronics.

The European Microwave Conference is the major conference in this field in Europe. Therefore, it is the perfect event to keep up to date with recent achievements in the RF, microwave and millimetre-wave domain. The EuMC brings together international experts in a wide variety of specialities, attracting delegates with academic and industrial backgrounds. With more than 300 selected papers in about 40 oral and poster sessions, the conference represents an exciting forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent advances in the microwave area.

A broad range of high frequency related topics, from materials and technologies to integrated circuits, systems and applications will be addressed in all their aspects: theory, simulation, design and measurement. Examples include the latest developments for passive components, modelling and design of high frequency and high data rate photonics, highly stable and noiseless microwave and millimetre-wave sources, new linearisation techniques and the impact of new packaging technologies on development applications. Special emphasis will be placed on emerging technologies like MEMS, System-In-Package and System-On-Chip. The scope also includes electromagnetic field theory, theoretical and experimental developments in wave propagation and antenna systems, and advanced simulation techniques.

In addition to scientific papers, contributions are encouraged on industrial applications, covering the fields of instrumentation, medical, telecommunication, radar, space, automotive and defence systems.

Submission of Summaries

Summaries should be submitted by uploading a pdf-file (portable document format) to the EuMW2006 website: www.eumw2006.com. The Technical Programme Committee will review each summary. For topics common to two conferences as indicated in the topic lists, the decision about acceptance of the paper will be taken jointly by both Technical Programme Committees. However, each summary must be submitted to only one conference, selected by the author(s).

The summary should be in English, typed single space, and be either 2 or 3 pages long, including figures and diagrams. The summary must begin with the title, author’s name, affiliation and full address (including phone, fax and e-mail). It should include an abstract, a brief conclusion, and emphasise what is novel. Refer to the website for further details on evaluation criteria. One author information form per paper must be completed at the EuMW2006 website when uploading the summary.

Submissions by hard copy, fax or e-mail cannot be accepted. For further details on the electronic submission process please refer to the information given at www.eumw2006.com. The deadline for submission of summaries is 10 February 2006. Late submissions cannot be considered.
